The Navi Way:
Every Interaction Matters

Each and every one of us plays an essential role in making sure every interaction matters, whether it’s amongst our colleagues, students, alums, or community.

The Navi Way, celebrates our Ways of Working(WOW) and Whole Human EducationTM philosophies. Together we’re providing our students with support, championing their success, building trust, advancing inclusion, embracing accountability, and making things better.

Whole Human Education

NU’s Whole Human Education™ takes a holistic approach to student well-being. We’ve identified five core values designed to provide 360-degree support to our learners. We want our students to know they don’t have to “go it alone” when it comes to their education. We want them to feel we see their potential and recognize their unique life circumstances. And we want them to believe they’ll get the support they need to succeed in life and school.

Discover the "Why"
Behind The Navi Way

From the first time a perspective student discovers NU, to connecting with an enrollment advisor, to receiving support from their classmates/professors, to crossing the commencement stage with their degree, every interaction matters.  This is why we do what we do.

We All Need Someone to Lean On: Nikki’s Story | A Documentary by National University
Alumni Nikki S. discovered the academic lifeline she needed to excel and earn her MS in Applied Behavior Analysis through social and emotional support at National University. Nikki works as a board-certified applied behavior analyst and clinical supervisor for patients on the autism spectrum, helping them learn in their own unique ways while gaining independence. Being surrounded by a close-knit group of friends and family is key to Nikki, who grew up in the Phillipines. Reflecting on her upbringing, she says, “It wasn’t just about coming from a huge family, which I do. There’s the cultural value of community, just taking care of each other. If there’s someone who needs your help, we’re there for each other, and it feels good. You have that support whenever you need it. Not everyone has that, and that’s why I strive to bring social and emotional support into everything I do.” As Nikki can attest, attending college is stressful — from taking exams and managing heavy workloads to figuring out how to pay for tuition and books. For adult learners who’ve started or returned to higher education, that stress can be heightened as they juggle multiple roles — as a student, parent, employee, and possibly a caregiver. Often all at the same time. National University recognizes and offers support for college stressors by offering a holistic approach to student’s success and well-being called Whole Human Education™.
